Spirit of Timor is a free family-friendly concert with the Dili Allstars and Timor Oans. Celebrating Timorese culture with music, food, and dancing. Timorese food will be on sale, and a bar will operate.

The Dili Allstars, Timor’s only touring group, bring together music of resistance together with traditional storytelling and dance. The Dili Allstars were a leading voice of activism in the struggle for Timor Leste’s independence from Indonesian occupation. They continue bringing their music and storytelling alongside young Timorese members of Timor Oan’s Cultural Group. This inspirational initiative assists young East Timorese to connect with their cultural identity through community elders, and to preserve their rich tapestry of cultural arts practices for the present and future generations.

Spirit of Timor is presented by Friends of Baucau, a community group based in the Cities of Yarra and Darebin. We promote friendship links between the people in these cities and the communities of the Baucau Municipality in Timor-Leste, and in particular, work closely to support community initiated projects in 11 villages in the Baucau sub-district.

Packs of coffee grown in Timor Leste will be on sale to raise funds to support community projects in Baucau, Timor Leste.
